Trophy Elk

Hunting Edition

Cody Gibson shot this elk north of Winnette Sept. 17. He had to hike six miles one way and watched the herd of about 80 head for 1½ hours. He watched this bull elk bugle and chase off 6-7 other bull elk. The bull then walked in front of him about 40 yards away in between a two-tree clearing where he aimed and released his first shot into the neck. He walked about 20 more yards where he shot two more times to make sure his elk was down. He scored his bull which is the measuring of inches on the antlers and his scored a 342.
