Martineau Joins Halvorson For Representative Campaign; Accepts Treasurer’s Duties

The Halvorson for Representative Campaign has announced that long-time Sidney resident Paul R. Martineau has agreed to take on the duties of campaign treasurer.

The announcement was made by David Halvorson, who seeks election to the Montana Legislature from House District 37.

Speaking of his campaign treasurer, the Republican candidate said, “Paul will be a great asset to the campaign. Anyone acquainted with him knows that he is a hard worker, that he has a keen mind and a unique wit, and that he is a steadfast friend. Most important to the election campaign, whenever Paul takes on a task, he does it with attention to detail. He is meticulous and thorough.”

Martineau said of Halvorson, “Since 1995, David has gained a great deal of experience as a member of the legislative staff. The legislature employed him in various capacities during eight regular sessions and one special session. David has established working relationships with members of the Montana House and Senate. He knows the people and he knows the process. This will enable him to ‘hit the ground running’ when Legislature convenes next year in Helena. Don’t be surprised if he is chosen for a leadership position during his freshman term.”

After making his intention to run for office known in December 2011, Halvorson made it official on Jan. 12. That was the first day the Montana Secretary of State accepted candidate filings for the 2012 election cycle. He completed the form and paid the filing fee that morning. His name will appear on the June 5th Republican primary ballot.

Halvorson is a Sidney native. He has a record of community service, both as a local radio broadcaster and in various volunteer organizations.
