Sidney Leadership Committee Seeks Applicants

The Sidney area has many things to offer the community members, whether you are new to the area, or a longtime resident. Year after year, participants in the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture’s Leadership Class learn about the businesses, agriculture, tourism and recreation, health and human services, education, energy and local government in our area. This class offers a unique and interesting view into the many different facets of our town and area, and is a great opportunity to meet new people.

The Leadership Task Force is currently recruiting participants for next year’s class, which will start in September. Planning is already underway for the different Issue Days, with this year’s class shaping up to be a great success. Typically, businesses will sponsor one of their employees to attend the class, which is a two-year commitment. The participants need to attend 7 Issue Days, 3 Skills Development seminars, the annual Chamber Banquet, a school board meeting, a city council meeting, Leadership Class graduation, and a candidates forum should it be an election year. The second year of commitment will allow the participant to plan an issue day of their own for the next class.

This class is a great opportunity for community members to get involved. If you are interested in taking this class, or would like one of your employees to participate in the program, call the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture at (406) 433-1916.
