Richland County Youth Compete at State 4-H Horse Show

Five 4-H youth represented Richland County at the state 4-H horse show in Miles City September 28-29-03. Riding level 1 walk trot was Randy Lander on his horse Beau. He placed 4th in Western Pleasure and Horsemanship level 1. Competing at level 2 Horsemanship were Sarah Helmuth on Cortez and Becca Deming. Myka Steinbeiser rode her horse Jet to a 5th place win in Western Horsemanship level 4 and placed 7th in Junior Freestyle Reining. Rita Wick rode her horse Mosey to a 2nd place finish in Western Horsemanship level 6, placed 4th in a large bareback class and took 1st and won a buckle in Senior Freestyle Reining. Rita and her horse Phyllis placed 1st and brought home the buckle in level 6 English Horsemanship and rode to top honors and won a buckle in Hunter Hack. Other classes entered by the delegation were Western Pleasure, Short Stirrup Reining, Trail, Ranchorse competition, Bareback, Barrel Racing and Polebending.
