MT Pork Producers Council Offers PEDv Disease Update Seminar in Sept.

Montana Pork Producers Council (MPPC) is offering a Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus (PEDv) Disease and Update Seminar for producers in September. The program begins with a luncheon at 12:30pm, September 16th in Great Falls at the Best Western Heritage Inn’s Convention Area. The seminar provides a timely educational update on the destructive porcine disease prior to the colder weather environment that contributes to a higher number of cases nationally. Program partners include the Montana Department of Livestock and Prairie Livestock Supply.

Primary presenters include Dr. Steven Dudley of Prairie Livestock Supply and staff members of the Montana Department of Livestock.

“After MPPC provided similar update sessions in June, Montana’s producers requested a second dose of disease education to help them keep up with new developments later in the summer. This meeting is for those that attended the June meetings as well as those completely new to the subject,” says Anne Miller, Executive Director. “Our goal is to protect farms of all sizes from this virus by supplying producers with solid, current information.”

The seminar, including lunch, is free to all involved in pork production. Please contact the MPPC office to register for the program by Friday, September 12. MPPC’s phone number is (406) 557-2982 and email is [email protected].
