Upper Cut Salon Opens in Sidney

The Upper Cut Salon located at 345 22nd Ave NW in Sidney, opened its doors to clients August 18th. Owner, stylist and nail and lash tech. Courtney McIntyre reports that even though the business has only been open a short time, they've been extremely busy.

Briana Wilcoxen, Mandi Heinle, Britta Torgerson and McIntyre provide a range of services including cuts, color, styling, manicures, and eyelash extensions. Tammy Kunda, certified out of Williston State College, is also taking appointments as the salon's massage therapist.

"The best part about my job is when I flip the chair around and I see that twinkle in their eyes. I like making people feel beautiful," said McIntyre. When she saw an opportunity to start her own business she moved forward.

"I felt like there was a definite need for another salon," said the Sidney native. "There were a lot of nail techs that had nowhere to go because other salons were already full."

With the support of her family, McIntyre, who graduated from the Bold Beauty Academy in Billings, MT, awaited a four-month renovation before the space was ready to open. Hair products available for purchase are Indie, AG, It's a 10 and Bed Head and they also sell body jewelry.

Just across the street from Millers' Corner, the salon is open from 10am-5pm Monday through Friday and by appointment on Saturdays. Walk-ins are welcome. To schedule an appointment, they can be contacted via Facebook at Upper Cut Hair and Nails.
