Walking to Wellness Adds a Team Relay

The sixth annual Walking to Wellness will have an exciting new addition to this year’s event. This year teams are welcome to participate. Teams will utilize the same course as the individual participants. Each team member can walk or run their assigned “leg” of the race. The whole team can share the final victory lap.

Patti Iverson, who organized the first Walking to Wellness event explained, “This event has always been about promoting fitness at every level of experience. This event stands apart because we encourage both running and walking. It is not competitive. The addition of a team relay is a perfect fit for us”.

The relay will utilize the same course as the individual participants who are walking or running. One “lap” on the course is approximately, 5 km, or 3.1miles. Teams can divide the course up in any way they want. If you want each person to walk or run ¼, ½ or a full lap...volunteers will help to station your team at the necessary checkpoints. Teams can choose to complete a 5k, 10k or ½ marathon.

5k walk/run (3.1miles)

10k walk/run (6.2 miles)

Half Marathon (13.1miles)
