Dr. Mohamed Khan And Optimum Sugar Beet Health March 3-4

March 3 at 3 p.m. during the MonDak Ag Days and Trade Show, Dr. Mohamed Khan will be discussing his thesis on optimum sugar beet health strategies.

Dr. Mohamed Khan is responsible for developing, conducting, and evaluating educational programs that will improve sugarbeet production practices in North Dakota and Minnesota and is currently Extension Sugarbeet Specialist for North Dakota State University and the Univeristy of Minnesota. Dr. Khan is also the secretary of the Sugarbeet Research and Education Board of Minnesota and North Dakota (SBREB). His research is aimed at improving diseases such as Cercospora leaf spot, Rhizoctonia crown and root rot, Rhizomania and Fusarium yellows, and agronomic practices such as optimum plant populations and nitrogen management. Along with this, Dr. Khan is also the Chairman of the International Sugarbeet Institute which organizes a two day annual trade show.

Dr. Khan has received his BS from University of Guyana, MS from the University of Bath in the U.K., and his Ph.D. from Clemson University. Mohamed also has experience in managing tropical crops including coconut, oil palm, and sugar cane.

Dr. Mohamed Khan will be speaking at 3 p.m., Thurs., March 3 during the MonDak Ag Days and Trade Show.
