Roosevelt County Fair This Week

The Roosevelt County Fair is not too far away. The fun that Roosevelt County has been waiting for will be Aug. 8-12 and it is right around the bend.

Cale Moon is going to perform Friday at 7 p.m. According to http://www.rooseveltcountyfair.org/, Cale Moon is the son of a long-haul truck driver. He grew up loving the blue-collar American way of life: hard work, diesel fumes, dirt, guns, God, family and freedom. Cale's music is inspired by everyday life as it happens in the lives of everyday folks. The concert is free and will be held on the lawn. According to Moon's website, http://www.calemoon.com, "Now entirely self-produced, Cale is reviving the true spirit of country music: "Real songs for real people living real lives in the real world. My goal isn't to be acclaimed by critics, but to just be loved by my people. Ain't no boardroom meetings with executives and bean counters to decide what kind of music I'm gonna make. The only opinion I care about is THE FANS. Y'all say you want country music, and that's what I'm gonna make. Simple as that."

Kent Messmer will be doing his comedy hypnosis show Thursday, Aug. 10 at 7 p.m. According to http://www.alansands.com, Kent is a Montana native who first discovered magic at the age of nine after seeing a magician perform at his church. He knew then that is what he wanted to be. Now after many years of learning and performing, he teaches others the joy of entertaining through magic. Kent's riveting stage presence combined with his timely humor and amazing talent has won him acclaim everywhere he has performed. He has treated audiences of all ages to imaginative and entertaining shows that have resulted in his tremendous success and popularity. He will be performing on the stage.

There is much more to see and do with the food, judging, shows, dance, races, and goat fashion show. Exhibits will be open from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. daily and the fair closes at 3 p.m. on Saturday.
