Fairview Clinches Conference Championship Against Culbertson

The Fairview Warriors celebrated senior night on Saturday by defeating Culbertson 46-20. The win clinched the conference championship for the Warriors and eliminated Culbertson's playoff hopes. Culbertson struck first with a touchdown run and successful 2-pt conversion, making the score 8-0. Fairview finally found paydirt in the second quarter with a 64-yard pass from Jeff Tjelde to Jaxon Vitt. They followed that up with a Tyler Loan 1-yard run and a 33-yard field goal by Loan making the halftime score 17-8.

The Warriors stretched the lead to 31-8 early in the third quarter on a Brock Schlothauer 1-yard run and Loan 20-yard interception return. Culbertson scored on a 50-yard scramble by their quarterback, which was their first 1st down since their opening drive. Wyatt McPherson caught an 18-yard pass from Tjelde and Deacon Gackle caught a 4-yard pass from Tjelde to finish off the Warriors scoring. On defense, Gackle and Keegan Skogas each had an interception and Gavin Serafini blocked a punt. The Warriors travel to Plentywood next weekend to wrap up their regular season and then they start prepping for the playoffs.
