Eagles Name New Football Coach

Sidney High School announces the appointment of Jace Schillinger as the new head football coach, pending final board approval. An Eastern Montana native with a decorated playing career and well-rounded coaching record, Schillinger brings a wealth of knowledge and a love for the game to the Sidney sideline.

A highly decorated and record setting playing career at Baker High School (2000) and Dickinson State University (2005) is where football started for Schillinger. In his first year of teaching and coaching at Billings Central, Schillinger was the head track coach and an assistant for football and basketball. He then returned to Dickinson State where he served as the defensive line football coach and assistant track coach. He then went back to the high school gridiron for one season as the head coach at Park High School in Livingston.

Schillinger returned to college coaching as the running backs coach at the University of North Dakota, the offensive coordinator and head track coach at DSU, and most recently the tight ends coach at the University of Montana.

Now, with a renewed energy, a commitment to excellence and a focus on student athletes’ development, Schillinger is looking to lead the Eagles back to prominence on the football field.

“We are very excited to welcome Schillinger and his family to Sidney,” said activities director Chris Lee. “His coaching resume, vast experience, and passion for the game make him the ideal fit to lead our football program. We are looking forward to the positive and lasting impact he will have in the storied history of Sidney Eagle football.”

Schillinger is currently the head track and field coach at Sentinel High School in Missoula. When that spring season wraps up, the Schillinger family will make their way to Sidney. He will continue in his role as a sales professional for BSN Sports in Montana.
