The Montana Supreme Court has ruled that Kyle Lee Severson should be granted a new trial. Severson of Sidney was convicted of mitigated deliberate homicide in the 2019 shooting of Tyler Hayden and sentenced to 40 years in prison. The Richland County Commissioners approved the first reading of a new ordinance on Monday to establish open burning regulations, a county burn permit system and a penalty for violations.
