  • Summer Hours For Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site

    Fort Union Trading Post is currently open every day from 9:00am to 5:30pm Central Daylight Time. On Saturday, May 23, Fort Union will change from the winter hours to our summer hours. These hours will be from 8:00 am – 6:30 pm (Central Time). These hours will be in effect from Memorial Day to the end of Labor Day on September 6, 2015. Fort Union’s Trade House will be open every day during the summer hours with living history interpreters on site interpreting the history.     Fort Union Trading Post has received two traditionally painted buffalo robes. The artist, Mr. Darryl Growing Thunder is a member of the Dakota and Assiniboine tribes from Fort Peck, Montana said Park Ranger Loren Yellow Bird. The stories being displayed reflect the lifestyle of the Plains Indian warriors.
