    Many things can bring a family together. For the Roth family that thing is Paddlefish season. Ilene Roth of Sidney, has been grilling and pickling paddlefish for as long as she can remember. Although she says the paddlefish are very good grilled, Ilene prefers to pickle them.     The Sidney girls track team took second at the state track & field meet on Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25 in Laurel. Placing for the girls were Lexi Prevost, 3rd in the 100 hurdles, 4th in the 300 hurdles and 5th in pole vault. Erin Harris placed 4th in javelin, 2nd in pole vault and 5th in the 100 hurdles.     Altogether, more than 10 Tons of electronic waste was recycled at the Spring 2013 “E-rase your E-waste” event held in Sidney and Fairview May 10 and 11. In their first year hosting an event, 30 Fairview residents and businesses brought in more than 3,000 lbs. of that total during that community’s annual city-wide cleanup event held Saturday morning, May 11.     Saturday, May 18 was a gorgeous day with 124 golfers competing in the 7th Annual Early Bird Golf Scramble at Sidney Country Club. For the first time, all proceeds of the benefit tournament were designated for the Sunrise Women’s Clinic in Sidney. The artist, Mr. Darryl Growing Thunder is a member of the Dakota and Assiniboine tribes from Fort Peck, Montana said Park Ranger Loren Yellow Bird. The SURE program is part of the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of 2008 (Farm Bill). Under the 2008 Farm Bill, SURE authorizes assistance to farmers and ranchers who suffered crop losses caused by natural disasters occurring through September 30, 2011.
