Jean F. Krause, 83, Sidney, MT

Jean F. Krause, 83, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2012 at the Valley View Nursing Home in Glasgow, MT.

Jean was born on June 6, 1928 in Sidney, MT, the daughter of Earl Otto and Elizabeth Jeptha (Clark) Minser. She was raised and attended schools in Sidney, graduating from Sidney High School in 1956. She then attended Northern Montana College in Havre and graduated in 1948. She worked briefly in California and then at the hospital in Sidney.

On July 14, 1951 Jean married Earl F. Krause in Sidney. Except for living in Tracy, California from 1972 to 1973 and Delta, Colorado from 1973 to 1976, Jean has lived in Sidney all her life. She was a member of the Shepherd of the Valley Church in Sidney.

Jean said the best years of her life were when Bill & Deneen were home. “I just really enjoyed having the kids and they were good kids.” Jean’s second love was traveling with their RV. They took two real nice trips, one being to Lake Louise, Banff, Canada and down the west coast of California and then a 2 month trip to Alaska.

Jean had occasional part time jobs over the years, one being a rural mail carrier and later in life she was a realtor during Sidney’s first oil boom. She also volunteered and helped seniors with their taxes.

Jean was an avid bridge player and played until her vision did not allow her to do it anymore, as she had Macular degeneration. She enjoyed the last seven years living at Crestwood. Jean had an amazing circle of friends and loved them dearly. She also found true friends in her short time at Valley View Nursing Home.

Jean kept her mind active and up to date on current events. She wanted to convey to her grandchildren how important it is to keep abreast of what is going on in the country. She also wanted them to be knowledgeable about the importance of our nation’s history. Jean was an avid reader and her wish was to pass that desire of reading on to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jean said education is important and it is something that no one can take away from you.

So to Jean’s family and dear friends, just remember there is one more angel watching over you.

She was preceded in death by her husband Earl on January 20, 2005 and by a brother J.D. “Andy” (Lil) Anderson of Colorado.

Survivors include her son William “Bill” (Kathy) Krause of Spokane, Washington, her daughter Deneen (Brian) Fuhrman of Opheim, Montana, four grandchildren Christopher Krause of Spokane, Washington, Alysia (Pat) Kaufman of Spokane, Washington, Keith (Kerri) Fuhrman of Joliet, Illinois and Carl (Rikki) Fuhrman of Glasgow, and five great grandchildren; Soren James Kaufman of Spokane, Jacob, Cassie and Bryce Fuhrman of Joliet, and Wade Fuhrman of Glasgow. She also is survived by two cousins, Don and Charlotte Clark of San Francisco, California and Joe and Judy Clark of Post Falls, Idaho, and many other nieces and nephews.
