Family Fun at the MonDak Heritage Center

The MonDak Heritage Center is hosting its second Family Fun Day on Saturday, May 18 from 1 to 4 p.m. Jenny Baker, outreach coordinator, is excited about the event. ”We had over 160 people last time and had such a great time that we wanted to do it again,” she said. The 18th is Armed Forces Day and that will be the theme of the day. Operation Gratitude will encourage children to color a picture or write a letter which will then be sent by Baker to members of the Armed Forces who are deployed. There will also be four art stations set up with different activities plus fun activities downstairs, including a scavenger hunt. “The kids love the scavenger hunt, and they see so much more when they are actually looking for things,” Baker stated. There will also be a story hour, snacks and lots of fun. The entire event is free.

Volunteers are still needed that day. If you can spare a few hours to soak up the joy and excitement of a bunch of children, please call the Heritage Center at 433-3500.
