'Rollin' Out the Red Carpet' for the Second Annual Cattlemen's Ball

The premiere event of the season, the Cattlemen’s Ball, will be held Saturday, February 22 at the Richland County Fair Event Center, Sidney. The social begins at 5 p.m. with a prime rib dinner catered by the Ranger Lounge being served at 6:30p.m.

After dinner, a live auction will feature some fantastic items up for bid. Those items include a handmade quilt by Sheree Albin and Judy Sondeno; a custom saddle by Jarvis Klempel of Klempel Saddlery; a saddle rack by Tyler Larson; a CM Russell painting donated by the Goss family; a STS leather coat and STS leather purse donated by The Lucky Buckle; a gun donated by High Caliber Sports; a Richland County Centennial Rifle sponsored by Hurley Oilfield Services and kid’s chinks crafted by Wade McMillan.

The Teka Brock Band will begin at 8 p.m. for your dancing and listening pleasure. There will also be a men’s and a ladies’ raffle. Tickets are $20 for a chance to win a Big Tex Traeger grill with all the fixings which Montana Turf ‘n Wheels helped to sponsor; or a 5 qt. Kitchen Aid mixer and a Dutch oven with all the fixings.

The Ball is a collaborative effort between the Montana Stockgrowers Association and the Foundation for Community Care. Committee member Kristin Larson stated, ”Our goal with the Cattlemen’s Ball is to unite two very important industries and do it in a way that not only supports the community but makes it better. BEEF is part of a healthy diet and the nutritional benefits really do make it a powerful protein. We want to convey this message backed by our research to our medical community. We invite you to come enjoy dinner, dancing and an evening of fun.”

“The Cattlemen’s Ball is fun with a good cause behind it,” added committee member Marci Albin. ”It’s fun to get dressed up for a great night out.”

Last year, the event raised approximately $19,000 which was used to purchase a Life Pac for Sidney Health Center. They also sent a Sidney Health Center employee to a “Pasture to Plate” Tour to learn about the health benefits of beef.

The committee would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their sponsors: Tri-County Implement, Nortana Grain Co., EPIC, Sietz Insurance Agency, XTO Energy, BNSF Railway, J&L Fencing & Pitliners Inc., Prewitt & Company, Stockman Bank, Bar JV Angus, Dynneson Ranch, M&C Beverage, Sidney Sugars, Wood Group/Mitchell’s Oilfield Services, Sidney Livestock Market Center and Reynolds Market.
