Summer Workshop Schedule for Educators

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has set its summer schedule of conservation workshops for educators.

National Archery in the Schools – June 3-4, Bismarck. Workshop participants are provided the fundamentals to teach archery in grades 4-12, either indoors or outdoors, and will be able to implement an archery unit in the classroom, and as an after-school activity. A preregistration fee of $10 is required. Register by calling Jeff Long at 701-328-6322.

Habitats of North Dakota – June 10-11, Minot. Designed for teachers, environmental educators and anyone who works with youth. Wetlands, badlands, prairie, woodlands and riparian habitats are studied.

Visual Arts Approach to Teaching Life Science – June 25-26, Bismarck. Participants will experiment with clay, water, pastel and colored pencil, while emphasizing North Dakota resources, environment and wildlife.

Science Resources for Elementary Educators – July 9-10, Bismarck. This workshop provides participants with an overview of resources available to educators, including Wildlife of North Dakota, Elementary Aquatic Education, and Habitats of North Dakota.
