The Comforting Powers of Sammy

Jackie Beasley, Activity Director at the Good Shepherd Home (GSH) in Watford City, not only takes herself to work every morning, but she also brings with her a four legged Bichon Frise named Sammy.

Jackie acquired Sammy from a loving family that felt his calling was to comfort the residents at GSH after witnessing all of the love and attention he received and gave while participating in the GSH Farm Fun Day last year.

Sammy is four and a half years old and he looks forward to going to work every weekday. During the day, he'll sleep on any lap he can get on and in the evening he goes home with Jackie and sleeps in his own bed. He loves to cuddle, but has been known to sit for treats.

Sammy has been providing comfort to the residents of GSH for the past 9 months and he loves every minute of it. He is now one of the GSH family members. Beasley states, "He is a miracle worker and is loved and adored by residents and staff alike. I feel truly blessed and grateful to be able to provide such comfort for the residents."
