MonDak Area Stockgrowers Association Announces Scholarship Recipients

The MonDak Area Stockgrowers Association, along with the Rockin’ Your Heart Out/Cattlemen’s Ball committee is honored to announce the recipients of the 2014 MonDak Area Stockgrowers Scholarships.

Rachael Oliver, a 2014 graduate of Savage High School received a $1,000 scholarship. Ms. Oliver plans to attend Oklahoma State University in the fall, majoring in Animal Science.

Layton Hrubes, a 2013 graduate of Dawson County High school and current student at Montana State University, Bozeman also received a $1,000 scholarship. Ms. Hrubes is majoring in Animal Science.

The scholarship applicants are judged on their leadership activities, willingness to volunteer in their community and answering an essay question entitled: “Why are you majoring in an Agriculture Related Field?” Applicants were to be pursuing a degree in an Agriculture Related field and a resident in one of the counties that the MonDak Area Stockgrowers serve (Dawson, Richland, Roosevelt or Wibaux County, MT; Golden Valley, McKenzie or Williams County, ND).

The scholarship is presented annually to a graduating High School Senior and one to a current college student or a student looking to return to college. The funds for the scholarship are raised through the Rockin’ Your Heart Out/Cattlemen’s Ball, held annually in February, with this coming year’s event scheduled for February 21, 2015.
