It is so important for our youth to be a part of the Fairview Festival because they are our future. They will carry on the stories and traditions we set for them and along the way add their own contributions. We need to pave the way with a good example and encouragement to get involved.

The Fairview Festival Committee with support from the community, Fairview Ministerial Groups, Fairview’s Loaf & Jug and the Richland County Partnership for Promise’s “Above the influence Town Hall Grant” will be bringing Eric E. (eric-e.com) to entertain not only our youth but the community with music and “jam sessions”. The Fairview Pool is again this year offering free swimming both Friday & Saturday nights. New this year is the 5-K walk/run for all ages, with proceeds going to improve the Fairview walking path for future use of our community and our youth.

Richland County Partnership for Promise meets the second Thursday of each month at 10:00 am at the Community Service Building and brainstorms on ideas to promote the 5-promises to our community youth.

1. A Healthy Start

2. Opportunity to Serve Others

3. Caring Adults

4. Opportunity to learn marketable skills

5. Safe Places

Last year the Fairview Community Festival Committee and Fairview Community Members with encouragement from the partnership sought to provide a specific activity for youth that would be safe and healthy. They worked with Fairview Community Businesses & members to raise money to sponsor activities and were able to open the Fairview Pool to our youth and provide snacks with supervision of caring adults. This year they are adding entertainment to expand our youth’s curiosity & talents. These small additions to the festival will be a positive influence on our youth. Involving the youth in the Fairview Festival will have a huge payback to the community when they become adults and continue to celebrate the Town of Fairview over the next 100 years.
