Williston's Renaissance on Main Groundbreaking

Renaissance on Main, the multi-use development to be built at the corner of 2nd and Main, downtown Williston, held a ground breaking ceremony on September 16. Government representatives including Lt. Governor Drew Wrigley, attorney general Wayne Stenehjem, former mayor Ward Koeser and current mayor Howard Klug welcomed developer Nancy J. Kapp and spoke of the importance of downtown revitalization and creating housing for essential workers. Chuck Wilder, Downtown Williston member and a driving force behind securing the project, also spoke of the importance of the project to the downtown area. Kapp said she is pleased to be building in Williston and spoke of the need for affordable housing for workers other than essential.

Renaissance on Main features both essential worker units and market rate units, first class office and prime retail space. The complex will open in 2015. The facility is being built on what was a parking lot and is seen as a critical asset which will spur further development of historic downtown Williston. Currently, crews are replacing sewer and water lines on Main. When the street is finished, there will be three lanes instead of four, wider sidewalks, as well as other improvements to create a more inviting downtown area.
