Historic US Senate Debate Scheduled for Oct. 21

On October 21, 2014 US Senate candidates from both major parties will debate at the Richland County Fair Event Center at 7pm. The debate is sponsored by the Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture in conjunction with the Richland County Farm Bureau. State Representative Amanda Curtis ( D ) and US Congressman Steve Daines ( R ) have both agreed to appear. The public is invited to attend in person or tune in on Marks Group stations KGCX 93.1 in Sidney, KXGN 1400 in Glendive, and KYUS 92.3 in Miles City.

To the best recollection of area historians, this is the first ever US Senate debate held in the far eastern part of the state. The eastern half of the state is facing many new and challenging issues and this is the one opportunity to compare and contrast each candidate’s solutions to those issues.

There are three ways the public can participate:

ATTEND! If you live outside of Sidney, carpool with others from your eastern Montana community! Students are Welcome!

LISTEN! If you can’t get there in person, tune into KGCX 93.1 in Sidney, KXGN 1400 in Glendive, or KYUS 92.3 in Miles City during the . The debate will also be livecast on Mid-Rivers. Live outside of eastern Montana? Ask your local radio station to carry the stream. They can contact KXGN at 406-377-3377 to set it up.

SUBMIT! Questions for consideration are encouraged from the public and can be submitted to [email protected]. Questions will not be taken live during the event.
