2015 Spring Crop Program Expansion Announced in the Billings Region

The USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) recently announced expansion to 2015 county spring crop programs, including several spring crops in the Billings Region.

The soybean program was added in Divide, Grant, and Stark counties in North Dakota. The mustard program was added in Choteau, Hill, Liberty, Pondera, and Toole counties in Montana. The dry pea program was added in Laramie County, Wyoming.

Additionally, non-irrigated grain corn is now insurable in Adams County in North Dakota, and Perkins and Shannon counties in South Dakota. Insurance coverage has also been added for non-irrigated silage corn in Carter County, Montana.

Federal crop insurance policies are sold and delivered solely through private crop insurance companies and agents. A list of crop insurance agents is available at all USDA service centers or on the RMA website at: www3.rma.usda.gov/tools/agents.
