DSU Fall Commencement Features Two Student Speakers From Dickinson

Dickinson, North Dakota natives Joshua Kralicek and Sarah Jennings were the featured student speakers Of the 110 total graduates, 28 graduated Cum Laude with a minimum GPA of 3.5, three graduated Magna Cum Laude with a minimum GPA of 3.75, and one student graduated Summa Cum Laude with a minimum GPA of 3.9, said Johnna Douthit, assistant director of academic records at DSU.

While the majority of students were from North Dakota, the graduating class represented 12 other states, including California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Connecticut, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Minnesota and Wisconsin. Students from the countries of Canada, China, Nigeria and Uganda also graduated in the fall commencement.

“With the smaller number of graduates and intimate setting in Stickney Auditorium, fall commencement is a special event,” said Douthit.

DSU is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the top public universities in the Midwest in its 2015 Best Colleges report. One of 11 institutions in the North Dakota University System, DSU offers 51 bachelor’s degrees, four associate degrees and two certificate programs.

Classes are offered in Dickinson, Bismarck, and Williston; 81 courses are online.
