ElectricLand in Sidney is NOT Closing

On February 5, 2015 Radio Shack filed Chapter 11 restructuring bankruptcy. The bankruptcy affects the approximately 4000 company stores owned in the US. The more than 1,000 dealer franchise stores in 25 countries are not affected. ElectricLand is a franchise store, independently owned and operated by Raleigh and Deb Peck, and therefore is NOT affected by the bankruptcy.

However, anyone who has a Radio Shack gift card must use it by March 6 due to the bankruptcy, otherwise those funds will be lost.

"We are your local electronics retailer," Raleigh Peck stated. "Unlike any rumors you may have heard, we are not closing. We are here to serve our customers to the best of our ability like we have since July of 2000."

As a franchise, ElectricLand purchases from various vendors. Everything that was available through Radio Shack is available through other suppliers and ElectricLand is working on contracting with those suppliers.

Peck pointed out that ElectricLand is one of the few Sony dealers in Montana, that they also provide Dish Network, Direct TV, Verizon cell phones and Control 4 home automation, just to name a few. None of those entities have anything to do with Radio Shack. ElectricLand also provides installation service for everything from car starters to complete business or home audio, video security systems and fire alarm panels and monitoring.

"As always, we will continue to expand and improve," Peck stated. "In our small town of Sidney, you can find things you can't find in other places. Come and check out all the great businesses in town."

Peck encourages anyone with questions or concerns to call the store at 406-433-4370, like them on Facebook for updates, or just stop by. ElectricLand is open Monday – Friday 9am to 6 pm and Saturday 9am to 5 pm in the Shops at Fox Run 410 N. Central Ave., Sidney.
