Successful 22nd Annual Foundation for Community Care Benefit Golf Scramble

SIDNEY- What a day to have a golf tournament! Saturday, August 29th, 2015 marked the 22nd Annual Foundation for Community Care Benefit Golf Scramble at Sidney Country Club.

Teams began arriving at 7am to smoky, gray skies, which helped keep the temperature down. Sunny's Family Restaurant and Yellowstone Painting provided a hearty and flavorful breakfast of biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs, and sausage links to get our golfers swinging hard on their first tee off.

As teams followed their shots around the golf course, they were greeted with ice cold Blue Rock beverages, sweet and salty Sunrise City Kettle Corn, and the opportunity to win $10,000 with a lucky hole-in-one drive sponsored by Lower Yellowstone Rural Electric Coop. Other new additions to the tournament this year were a long drive specialist, Ryan Cooper, who would drive your tee shot for a donation, and the Hot Shot Ball Canon. The Hot Shot is capable of shooting your golf ball up to 400 yards. For a donation, teams shot the ball canon to land their ball on the front edge of the green. These additions to the tournament seemed to be quite popular with participants, and all donations to the golf tournament went directly to benefit the Foundation's Endowment Fund. As always, the mini golf style putting challenge was a hit with 6 holes of frustration and delight.

Lunch was served in the clubhouse from 11am-2pm. The Fringe restaurant provided juicy hamburgers and grilled chicken breasts, fries, chips, fruit, salads, and a build your own ice cream sundae bar for dessert. No one went back on the course hungry or disappointed.

Each year, this tournament brings a very special group of people together. The golf tournament is a fundraiser, but more than that, it's a gathering of givers. Thanks to all our sponsors, volunteers, Sidney Country Club Staff, and to our donors for making this event happen each year. We couldn't do it without you.
