Results are in for the Purple Pumpkin Decorating Contest!

Richland County Family Planning, Richland County Coalition Against Domestic Violence, and Victim Witness Advocate Program celebrated October by hosting a pumpkin decorating contest to raise awareness of domestic violence. Submissions and winners are pictured, from left to right: "Prince Charming was a Beast", by Dorene McDonald, winner of People's Choice; Untitled, by Lesley Thiessen; "Whoooo do you think you are?", by Stephanie and Evelyn Ler; "Love shouldn't hurt", by Herlee & Brylee Moran; "Keep calm & stay strong", by the Richland County Commission on Aging; "Silence is violence", by Sidney High School Key Club, winner of Best Message; "Reawaken your dreams", by Felicia Iversen; and "Domestic violence isn't pretty", by Shyanne Nice, winner of Most Creative. Not pictured is "Don't mask the signs of domestic violence", by Kelly Feldman. The decorated pumpkins were on display in the foyer of the Community Services Building.
