Richland Co. Residents Invited to Give Community Input & Get Involved During Town Hall Meetings

The Communities in Action Steering Committee has organized a series of Town Hall Meetings in April, led by Tara Mastel from Montana State University and the Local Government Center. Richland County residents are invited to join them for dinner, catered by Strasheim Catering. Topics of discussion include what’s currently going on in surrounding communities, how things have changed with slowing oil production, and how residents can get involved and make continued improvements.

During each meeting, attendants will take a ‘Gallery Walk’, visiting with more than twelve Action Groups with a variety of goals including nutrition, youth activities, walking trails, injury prevention, DUI task force, mental health, and faith-based action groups. Each group will have a poster with their group title and a brief description of what they do, their top achievements, current projects, the date, time, and place of their next meeting, as well as the group leader’s contact information. Action Groups will be available to answer questions and encourage residents to implement positive change in their own backyard. Attendants will be asked to complete surveys during the meetings, which will provide valuable information about civic involvement.

The schedule for the upcoming Town Hall Meetings is as follows:

Sidney – Monday, April 11th @ St. Matthew’s Parish Center – 5:30pm- 8:00pm

Elmdale – Tuesday, April 12th @ Elmdale Hall – 6:30am-8:30am

Lambert – Tuesday, April 12th @ Fox Lake Senior Center – 5:30pm-8:00pm

Fairview – Wednesday, April 13th @ The Waterhole #3 – 5:30pm-8:00pm

Savage – Thursday, April 14th @ The Savage Fire Hall – 5:30pm-8:00pm

All Richland County residents are invited to attend any of the meetings, though people are encouraged to attend one in the community nearest where they live.
