In the first campaign finance reports released May 3 in the House District 35 race, reports showed Republican Joel Krautter had raised $4,545, Scott Staffanson had raised $2,280, and Democrat Chris Trumpower had raised $100. Reports also showed that among funds candidates had on hand Krautter had $1,845.02, Staffanson $594.33 and Trumpower $100.00. Staffanson received 11 contributions, while Krautter had received 42 contributions, including contributions from the Montana Farm Bureau PAC, the Montana Credit Union Advocacy Council PAC and the Northwestern Energy Montana Employee PAC.
Election Day in the contested Republican primary is June 7.
Trumpower is running unopposed in the Democrat Primary.
