MT Depart. of Transportation Proposes Railroad Crossing Signal Installation on 9th Street East in Fairview

The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal regarding the installation of highway-rail grade crossing signals on 9th Street East in Fairview in Richland County.

This is a cooperative project between the Town of Fairview, MDT, and Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF). MDT is providing funding for the signal installation. BNSF Railway will be performing the physical installation of the signal system.

The purpose of the project is to improve safety at the crossing. The installation work is tentatively scheduled for construction in summer of 2017.
