Agent Michele Herres Opens State Farm Agency in Sidney

Michele Herres opened a second State Farm Agency office at 216 S Central Ave in Sidney on Oct. 1st. Having relocated from Billings, MT, Herres has 13 years of insurance experience, predominantly focused on implementing benefit programs for small businesses. After spending 5 years in a management position, Michele realized that she missed sales, and found that State Farm would be the perfect fit. Training for this new position as a State Farm Agent was a process that took nearly a year to complete.

First, she had to complete testing before getting licensed to sell insurance, which included a lot of online training. Herres then spent five weeks in Arizona learning about products and the State Farm sales process. After that, she spent 17 weeks in an internship program at a Miles City State Farm Agency.

"I chose to come to Sidney because of the opportunity and availability. Everyone has been very welcoming and I've started reaching out to the community and getting involved. I love that Sidney is a small town and that I get to be a part of that," commented Herres.

Herres was familiar with Sidney, having traveled through the area six years ago while selling benefit insurance. She is licensed in both Montana and North Dakota.

The recently opened State Farm Agency sells auto, home, life, health insurance, as well as financial and banking products, with many discounts available.

"I would like to meet with every one of my customers to assess how to properly protect them. It's important to get to know my customers and what their needs are so that I can offer them the best possible protection. I'm not just here to sell a product, but to build relationships," she said.

Herres currently employs one licensed State Farm Team Member, and will be hiring two more in the near future. Once she is settled, she will be hosting an open house.
