Sidney's Trail of Treats to be Held Saturday, Oct. 29

Halloween festivities will be twice as nice this year, with the Trail of Treats happening Saturday, Oct. 29th from noon until 3:00pm. Trail maps can be picked up at all participating businesses and organizations Including the Lucky Buckle, High Caliber Sports, Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham, Holiday Inn Express, Reese & Ray’s IGA, State Farm Agency (Michele Herres), Reynolds, Mucho Si, Meadowlark, Big Sky Embroidery, Ribbon & Rail, Fink Family Chiropractic, NAPA, Party Central, JZ’s Fashion, Faith Alliance Church, Lonsdale United Methodist Church, and Johnson Hardware. There is no specific order, so trick-or-treaters are invited to start and stop where they choose.

The Faith Alliance Church, located at 301 E Main St, is kicking off the festivities at noon with a free hotdog lunch, games, candy, and a fall photo station until 3:00pm. The Richland County Boys & Girls Club is having a haunted house from 5:00pm – 9:00pm that day; it will be $5 for kids’ activities and $10 for the haunted house.

Kids can end their fun afternoon at Reynolds Market, 404 N Central Ave. The store will be holding a costume contest at 3:30pm. Costumes will be judged in categories age 0 to preschoolers, kindergarten through 2nd grade, and 3rd grade through 5th grade, with prizes to be awarded.

The Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce is organizing the Trail of Treats and FFA members will be helping out, assisting in the safe crossing of Central Ave. and serving as Trail of Treats’ guides.
