Celebrating Chocolate at the MDHC Feb. 11

We look forward to our Annual Celebrating Chocolate fundraising event every year. Once again, we’ll have amazing live music, and of course lots of chocolate and a fine selection of wine and beer to compliment the evening. There will also be coffee and plenty of ice cold milk, and savory treats.

The entertainment will feature Too Marvelous For Words: A Celebration of the Nat “King” Cole Trio. This Trio is a fun and swingin’ journey into the early days of Nat King Cole. Before “The Christmas Song” and “Mona Lisa” that we know from the crooner standing in front of the orchestra, Nat was recording and playing (from the piano bench!) some of the tastiest and most influential music of the day, leaving an impact not only on an array of singers, but also on such pianists as Oscar Peterson and Ahmad Jamal.

Drawing on his experience as both an actor and a singer/pianist, Peter Smith (creator) effortlessly weaves in stories from this period in Nat King Cole’s life as they relate to the song selections, creating an evening that is fun, informative and leaves the audiences tapping their feet and pondering the fascinating tidbits of Nat’s life.

The theme for our 10th Annual Event this year is “Welcome to the Silver Screen, celebrating the Glory Days of Hollywood”. This year includes a VIP Opening beginning at 6:30pm for those who sponsor tables. The pre-event mixer will include time with the performers, special food and drink, commemorative bottles of wine, and first pass at the silent auction.

Doors open for all other ticket holders at 7pm. This is a seated event, so fewer tickets are available compared to other popular ticketed events at the MonDak, and they won’t last long. We’ll welcome all ticket holders with a celebratory glass of sparkling wine and attendees this year will also have the opportunity to buy a chance to win a chocolate diamond.

We invite everyone to break out their formal wear if they’d like, but this is by no means a requirement (boots and jeans are always welcome at the MDHC).

Tickets for members of the MonDak are on sale for $50. Anyone can join at the time of purchase to take advantage of special member pricing. Tickets are also on sale to the public for $60. If you can’t stop by, we’ll be happy to process your tickets over the phone at (406) 433-3500 or via email at [email protected]. A silent auction will also take place with contributions from area artists and local businesses. Proceeds from this fundraiser will bring history, art, and live music events to the MonDak region. This special event is made possible by Stockman Bank and the membership of the MonDak Heritage Center.

Sponsored tables (and the VIP Opening) are also available for $300 (seats 4) and $600 (seats 8). Become a member and take advantage of the member rate today!
