Harvest For Seniors Project

The Harvest for Seniors project connects local farmers and gardeners to area seniors through a project that addresses senior nutritional needs. This will be the fifth year that the project will be distributing fresh fruits and vegetables to area seniors. This project is administered in partnership with Northeast MT RSVP, AEMT Senior Companions and the Richland County Commission on Aging.

There are two ways to get involved:

1. Donate any extra fruits and vegetables: It’s easy! Just drop off the produce at the Richland County Health Dept. collection bins, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at 1201 W. Holly St., Sidney, MT 59270.

2. Volunteer to sort or distribute: It’s fun! Volunteers needed to sort, bag and prepare produce for distribution, one to two times per week or as needed. Need volunteers to deliver to Sidney area seniors one to two times per week or as needed.

Get on the list: if you’re a Richland County senior (age 60+) living in the Sidney, Fairview or Savage area you can sign up to receive fresh produce one to two times per week or as volunteers are available. Call Rita Jacobson with the Northeast MT RSVP at 406-433-2207 to get added to the distribution list.
