The MonDak Heritage Center Announces the It Started With Aardvark Exhibit

The MonDak Heritage Center announces It Started With Aardvark, on display from Tuesday, October 17 through Saturday, December 30 at the MonDak Heritage Center, 120 3rd Ave SE, Sidney, MT 59270. It Started With Aardvark features a series of twenty-six screenprints by Elizabeth Dove, one for each letter of the alphabet. It includes every illustration from the dictionary, with these images organized by letter. The screenprints overlap the 3,100 dictionary illustrations in successive layers printed one on top of another so that they co-exist as one merged graphic icon, a hybrid of all visual knowledge. Dove is a Professor in the School of Art at the University of Montana. She exhibits locally and internationally, and her research on the integration of digital technology and traditional printmaking practices has been published in the books The Contemporary Printmaker, Non-toxic Intaglio Printmaking, and in the British journal, Printmaking Today. Sponsored by MAGDA. The MonDak Heritage Center is open Tuesday-Friday from 10-4 and Saturday from 1-4. Admission is FREE. For more information call (406) 433-3500 or e-mail [email protected].
