    The Richland County Fair & Rodeo will feature some new construction for this year's event. The new 4-H complex and buildings were built with B&B Builders as the general contractors for the project. The new complex consists of a horse barn and stalls; a sheep, swine and goat barn and a cattle barn. Along with these three separate barns, there is also a new show area with expanded grandstands.     Cape Air presented their new Tecnam P2012 Traveller planes to the public at the Sidney-Richland Municipal Airport on April 7. The new planes will replace the airline's current fleet of Cessna 402s. The first commercial flight from the Sidney Airport took place April 9. The company currently has three of the new planes in service in Montana with two more entering service.   • Richland Co. Sportsmen's Club Looking for Shooting Range Land

    On Nov. 16 the Richland County Sportsmen's Club, Inc. held a meeting to discuss plans for a new shooting range in the county. The club has been making attempts to reach out to landowners for property to either purchase or lease for the new facility. The club has been visiting other shooting ranges in surrounding counties to get different ideas on ways to layout and build the outdoor facility.     Sidney will have two wrestlers taking part in a historic tournament this weekend. The first ever all girls high school Montana state wrestling tournament will take place Feb. 19-20 at Lockwood High School. Sidney junior Keela Kary will be wrestling at 120 pounds. Kary has wrestled for five years in the AAU program and stated wrestling in grade 7. Her dad and brother were her inspiration for starting her wrestling career.     On May 13 Katherine Scholl of Florence, MT filed a campaign practices complaint against Conservatives United for Richland County (CURC) alleging that the group failed to file a required C-6 committee finance report. On May 18 the COPP issued a decision finding that CURC failed to timely file its C-6 committee finance reports due March 30 and April 30.     On April 14 political action committee (PAC), Doctors for a Healthy Montana, filed a lawsuit in U.S. District Court in Missoula against MT Attorney General Tim Fox and Commissioner of Political Practices (COPP) Jeffery Mangan. The group claims the statute cited by Rep. Joel Krautter, R-Sidney, in his complaint filed with COPP on April 7 serves no useful purpose and should be repealed.     On July 3 Kyle Lee Severson, 19, Sidney, was charged with deliberate homicide in the shooting death of Tyler Anthony Hayden, 20, Sidney.     Richland County Commissioners held a meeting on March 29 to discuss the current status of flooding in the county. Although there was some subsequent flooding of county roads and five reported homes, Richland Country did not receive as much damage as McKenzie County, ND to the east.     The Eagles earned the top spot at the 2019 MHSA State Championships in Billings on Feb. 9. The team scored a total of 310.5 points beating the second place Havre team that scored 170 and third place Polson with 128.5.     The Sidney High School wrestling team ended their season on top of the podium at the All Class State Wrestling Tournament in Billings. The Eagles soared into first place on Friday 16 points ahead of the five-time state champion Havre Blue Ponies.
