  • Richland County 4-H Members Donate Fund to the Garfield County Fire Relief Fund

    During the 2017 Richland County Fair and Rodeo members of the Richland County 4-H Program donated funds to help those who were affected by the fires in Garfield County this year. Members who chose to donate gave a portion of their market livestock proceeds to help out their neighbors. Many of the youth who donated said that this was something that they really wanted to do to help out those in need. Collectively the youth donated $1145 to the Garfield County Fire Relief Fund.     The annual 4-H Speech and Demonstration Day was held on May 1 at the Sidney High School. Speech and Demonstration Day is a local 4-H event, where 4-H members get to practice public speaking skills that build self-confidence and self-esteem. This year the event was comprised of three different categories for 4-H youth to compete in; Demonstrations, Prepared Public Speaking and Career Communications.     Eight 4-H members proudly represented Richland County at Montana 4-H Congress from July 7th to 10th. Montana 4-H Congress provides youth from across the state an opportunity to come together on the Montana State University campus in Bozeman and participate in an event like no other.     Friday, June 14, 4-H members and leaders from Daniels, Richland, and Roosevelt Counties gathered at the American Legion Hall in Culbertson for the Tri-County Sewing Camp.     The annual Richland County 4-H Junior Leaders Dinner and Dance took place on Friday April 12th, 2013 at the VFW in Sidney. The steak and shrimp dinner was served from 6:30 to 8:30 in the evening.
