    Sidney - Sidney Lions Club celebrated its 50th year anniversary on Saturday, May 15 at Sidney Elks Lodge. Since the club’s chartering in 1971, its members have worked on a variety of projects in the local community, such as Adopt-a-highway, Christmas Wreath, Flags for First Graders, Lions Trap Shoot fundraiser for scholarships, Meals-on-Wheels, Mint Sales, Peace Poster, People Movers the Richland County Fair & Rodeo, Pie Social at Crestwood & the Lodge, Youth Track Meet, Sight Screenings - just to name a few.   • Sidney Lions Club Presents $250 Check To NHS

    The Lions and NHS team up to present academic scholar certificates to all Sidney HS students who have earned a 3.5 gps each of the first three quarters of the school year. A social is held where parents are invited while the certificates are presented and dessert and coffee or other beverage are served. The NHS induction of new members is held at the same function.     The Elks Lodge BPOE #1782 and the VFW Post #4099 invites all community, military personnel, veterans and their families to attend our 4th Annual Honor Ride and Appreciation Day on Saturday, July 30, 2016. This year we will be riding in memory of Charlie Boyer and honoring our Iraq and Afghanistan veterans. Registration will begin at 10:00am at the Sidney Elks Lodge at 123 3rd Street SW.
