    The Maka Flora Chapter of the Montana Native Plant Society has planned four field trips for 2014. If you enjoy the outdoors, have an interest in plants, like to hike or are just curious about trying something new, plan to attend some of these outings. You do not need to be a Native Plant Society member to participate. This summer’s field trips offer a variety of landscapes, plants, and interesting site-seeing.   • Wildflower Photo Contest and Wildflower Walk

    The U.S. Forest Service, Dakota Prairie Grasslands, McKenzie Ranger District, is holding a Wildflower Photo Contest and a Wildflower Walk to promote appreciation for native wildflowers, use and enjoyment of the National Grasslands. Wildflower Walk will be Friday, June 7 at 6 p.m. (central) at CCC Campground (15 miles South of Watford City, turn right just past the Little Missouri River Bridge).
