Sidney – A Montana Business Adaptability Grant recently helped ease the financial burden providing a safe COVID-free facility for eastern Montana youth. "We are cleaning constantly," said Elaine Stedman, of the Boys & Girls Club of Richland County CEO, Sidney. "The cleaners can be difficult to find and expensive ... Shannon Ruckman|Feb 18, 2015

Conventional horizontal drilling and production methods in Montana's Bakken Oil Field extract 9 to 15 percent of available oil. What does irrigation do for Montana’s agricultural economy? Take a trip down the Tongue River Valley, where you’ll find about 25,000 irrigated acres along its 190-mile length. • When Minutes Count

    Shannon Ruckman|Aug 13, 2014

When a wildland fire breaks out on land assigned to DNRC for direct protection, the odds are good that fire will be controlled before it reaches 10 acres in size. How good are the odds? In 2012, DNRC suppressed 304 of 322 wildfire starts before they reached 10 acres-a success rate of 94 percent. In 2013, it was 293 of 299 for a success rate of 98 percent. DNRC believes that safe, aggressive initial attack is the best wildfire containment strategy, one that minimizes costs and damages to state...
