    The SHS Speech and Drama Team travelled to Huntley Project for their last meet before divisionals in Glendive on January 24th. Competing against 29 schools the Drama Team placed 1st in Class A Sweeps and the Speech team took 3rd in Class A Sweeps.     The Top Ten Beet Growers Awards were held on Wednesday, January 14 at the Elks in Sidney. Recognized were the top five growers with 50- 282 acres and the top five growers with more than 282 acres.     Brothers Todd and Dean Steinley of DC and T&J Farms were named Top Grower of the over 282 acres category with 648 acres, 36.4 tons per acre, a sugar content of 18.39% and a rating of 32.94. The program is in its fifth year with funding for the program provided by the Richland County Commissioners.     Oil spill response workers recovered approximately 240 barrels of crude oil from the Poplar Pipeline Tuesday. Workers recovered the oil from the south side of the Yellowstone River where the pipeline crosses about six miles upstream from Glendive, MT. Responders earlier had calculated the pipeline breach to have a worst-case discharge of up to 1200 barrels (50,000 gallons) of crude oil. Today’s recovery reduces the total that could have escaped into the river to about 960 barrels (or 40,000 gallons.) Drinking water is still being made a...
