    The MonDak Energy Alliance, which is made up of individuals and businesses interested in developing energy within the MonDak region, met Feb. 28th in Sidney.     In the summer of 2011, a massive storm destroyed the beautiful, mature trees in the Savage cemetery so the SAVAGE Inc & Cemetery boards are in the process of raising money to buy and plant new trees. The goal needed to fund this project is $30,000, so Stockman Bank is presenting the local community/area with a “challenge” to help get this project funded.     The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to install traffic signals at two intersections in Sidney, MT, Richland County. New traffic signals will be installed at the following intersections: West Holly Street (MT 16) and 22nd Avenue and West Holly Street (MT 16) and Lincoln Avenue.     State law requires permanent fish houses to be removed from North Dakota waters by midnight March 15. Nancy Boldt, water safety coordinator for the State Game and Fish Department, said anglers should exercise caution because mild weather conditions can quickly result in unstable ice conditions. “It is always important to check ice thickness, as warm temperatures with a high sun will rapidly deteriorate ice conditions this time of the year,” Boldt said.     The state Game and Fish Department’s annual Earth Day awareness campaign is accepting entries for design of a 2013 Earth Day patch. North Dakota students ages 6-18 are eligible to participate. The deadline to submit entries is March 15. The Game and Fish Department will announce a winner in three age categories – 6-9, 10-13, and 14-18. Drop credit (or drop charge) is the value of nonmeat items such as blood, meat, hides, fat, bones, hair, etc. The term is also applied to pork values.
