    Homefest is a Watford City tradition that celebrates class and family reunions, street dances and warm weather. Homefest 2012 is taking that more than one step further. This year’s Homefest is June 21, 22, and 23.The weekend festivities start on Thursday night and do not stop till Saturday night. Lindsey Wingerter is the chair of the Homefest 2012 committee.   • Pertussis Outbreaks Continue To Occur Throughout MT

    The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) reports that outbreaks of pertussis, also known as whooping cough, are being reported in several areas of Montana and is urging vaccines for all children and adults to help prevent the disease. Since January 2012, nearly 90 cases of pertussis have been reported statewide, compared to approximately 50 cases for the same period last year.     North Dakota’s state historic sites will open or expand hours for the summer season, beginning May 16 and continuing through September 15.
