The McKenzie County Commission voted unanimously to hold property tax increases to net zero in the upcoming fiscal year. County Departments are being asked to cut 1% from their proposed budgets to stay in line with the Commission’s goal. The Long X Arts Foundation out of Watford City will be hosting two youth art classes this fall, every Thursday starting on September 14 and running through November 2nd at the Rough Rider Center in Watford City. The MonDak Animal Rescue’s (MDAR) annual Dog Jog will be held Saturday, September 16. The event will utilize proceeds from the fundraiser to support operational costs of the shelter. MDAR rescues/adopts more than 350 pets a year; making sure every pet sees a local veterinarian for vaccines prior to adoption.
