    The Sidney Area Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture announces the 2012 Christmas Stroll and Parade of Lights will be the day after Thanksgiving, November 23rd. Chosen as the theme this year is “It’s A Charlie Brown Christmas”. The Chamber invites the community to become involved in the activities of this day.     The Watford City Chamber of Commerce is “Celebrating a Storybook Christmas” this year for the Parade of Lights. They are looking for floats to participate in the parade, to make it fantastic this year. The theme for this year’s parade is, “Watford City Celebrates a Storybook Christmas.” The only guidelines set for the floats is try to follow the theme and that no other floats can contain a “live” Santa, as they only want one float with Santa on it.     The Sidney High School Cross Country team is hosting a Turkey Trot for all ages on November 23rd. There will be a 1k kids run for 6th grade and lower, a 3k walk, and a 5k run.     Aerial observations during the North Dakota Game and Fish Department’s fall mule deer survey indicated production in 2012 was about the same as last year’s record low. Biologists who accompanied pilots in fixed-wing planes counted 1,224 (1,055 in 2011) mule deer in the October survey. The buck-to-doe ratio of 0.37 (0.47 in 2010) was similar to the long-term average of 0.43 bucks per doe, and the fawn-to-doe ratio of 0.59 equaled the lowest fawn-to-doe ratio since the demographic survey began in 1954.
