Mercy Welcomes Three Physicians

Mercy Medical Center is pleased to introduce three new full time physicians; Dr. Gary Caplan, Occupational Health Physician, Dr. Christine Hoglund, Interventional Pain Management and Dr. Shu-Ming Wang, Family Practice Physician.

Dr. Gary Caplan, M.D., is the new Medical Director of the Occupational Health Clinic. Dr. Caplan was educated at American University of the Caribbean. He undertook both residencies of General Preventive Medicine, University of Kentucky and Occupational Medicine, University of Utah. Dr. Caplan completed his fellowship of the American College of Occupational Medicine. He is a member of four professional societies; American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, Tristate Occupation Medicine, Western Occupational and Environmental Medical Association, and California State Oriental Medical Association. Before coming to Mercy Medical Center, Dr. Caplan practiced at Mercy Occupational Medicine Clinic in Tiffin, Ohio. Dr. Christine J. Hoglund, D.O., brings a new dimension in pain management to Mercy Medical Center, Williston and the surrounding communities. Dr. Hoglund was educated at Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, California. She did her residency at University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida and completed her fellowship at West Virginia University, Morgantown, West Virginia. Christine is a lifelong learner dedicated to seeking new educational experiences and pain therapies to effectively treat patients’ pain. As an Osteopathic physician and Anesthesiologist, she believes in the multimodal and interdisciplinary approach to treating patients with acute and chronic pain. Dr. Shu-Ming Wang, M.D., is a Family Practice Physician at Craven-Hagan Clinic. Dr. Wang was educated at the University Of Washington School Of Medicine. She did her residency at University of Rochester Family Practice Residency Program. She has been a Family Practitioner for 20 years with special interest in women’s health. Dr. Wang is married to Dr. Clark who is the full-time Radiation Oncologist at Mercy Medical Center. In her free time Dr. Wang enjoys cooking, reading, knitting and traveling.
