Farm Credit Donates to 4-H Youth

Three Farm Credit organizations, Farm Credit Services of Mandan, Farm Credit Services of ND in Minot, and Ag Country Farm Credit Services in Fargo presented a check for $25,000 to North Dakota 4H Foundation Development Directors, Mylie Lavold and Duane Hauck.

“We are proud to support annual 4-H programs throughout our territory every year, but this special request to help provide youth with a quality educational experience at their 4-H camp was well deserving of additional funding,” said Claude Sem, CEO, Farm Credit Services of North Dakota.

The North Dakota 4-H Foundation is undertaking a $1.9 million capital campaign, “Shape a New Destiny”, to raise funds to renovate and expand the facilities at Western 4-H Camp near Washburn, ND. This camp is the only 4-H owned camp in North Dakota and provides a 4-H camping opportunity to all youth (4-H membership is not a requirement). Improvements are needed at the camp to provide a safer, higher quality camping experience and to continue to have a positive impact on the social, personal and educational growth of North Dakota’s youth.

Farm Credit Services of ND is a member-owned agricultural credit association providing loans to farmers and ranchers for real estate, machinery, and livestock and operating needs. FCS of ND also offers life & disability and crop insurances to the rural community. FCS of ND serves 17 counties in northwest North Dakota through eight branch offices located in Minot, Bottineau, Carrington, Rugby, and Williston, including Bowbells Crop Insurance (Bowbells), Schaan Crop Insurance (Rugby) and Ward County Crop Insurance (Minot).
