Sidney Health Center is expanding the walk-in clinic to include weekdays starting after the first of the year. The Weekday Walk-In Clinic will be located in the Medical Arts Building near the hospital ER entrance on 12th Avenue Southwest. The clinic will be open four days out of the week with evening hours on Thursdays.
Jesse Belville, Physician Assistant, was recently recruited to expand the service. Mr. Belville joins the medical staff with several years experience working in urgent care settings as well as emergency. He plans to start seeing patients in the Medical Arts Building beginning January 7.
The desire to expand the walk-in clinic hours beyond Saturday mornings has been a goal of the facility for quite some time. Feasibility, designated clinic space and staffing concerns were among reasons for the delay in expanding the service sooner. The Saturday Walk-In Clinic that is run by a rotating schedule of providers has remained busy since opening two years ago.
“With volume in the ER nearly doubling over the past few years, we felt it was necessary to expand the walk-in clinic hours to help accommodate those seeking a same-day appointment for non-emergent care,” stated Rick Haraldson, CEO.
To start, hours of the Weekday Walk-In Clinic will be 7:00AM – 4:00PM Monday and Tuesday, closed Wednesday, 11:00AM – 7:00PM Thursday and 7:00AM – 4:00PM Friday. The Saturday Walk-In Clinic will continue to be located in Suite 110 from 9:00AM – 12:00PM.
Like area facilities, Sidney Health Center will be implementing upfront payments in the clinic and hospital setting in 2013. Payment will be due at the time of service when visiting the Weekday Walk-In Clinic including co-pays and self-pay portions.
