The following students tested for their Black Belt last Saturday, January 19th, 2013 in Sidney.
Joshiah Kauffman, age 10, 4th grade.
Hailey Christensen, age 11, 5th grade
Katrina Meldahl, age 11, 6th grade
Sarah Turek, age 14, 9th grade
Tyker Baxter, age 16, 10th grade
Sawyer Flynn, age 16, 10th grade
They performed blocks, strikes, and kicks involved in Tae Kwon Do. They also performed 22 patterns, displayed their sparring abilities and finished with board breaking.
The test was a great success. All of the students did great and passed. Approximately 40 parents and friends were on hand to view the testing.
Ten instructors from Sidney, Williston and Billings were on hand to view the test and give suggestions for future development. The available instructors were 6th Dan Masters Mike Bergh from Sidney, Mark Rosalas and Scotty McCallen from Billings. 4th Dan Masters Matt Wright form Williston, Gary Tescher from Sidney and James Young visiting from California. 3rd Dan Black Belts David Albrecht and Dr. Ed Bergin. 2nd Dan Sharron Olson and 1st Dan Amy Bieber both from Sidney.
